Whitecroft Hospital rebranded as 'Gatcombe Manor'
Portsmouth-based Mildren Homes are now attempting to market Whitecroft with the hopeful slogan 'Home is at the Heart of the Island'. They add, "Gatcombe Manor has been named for its situation in the parish of Gatcombe at the centre of the Isle of Wight."
Their sales brochure which looks to be aimed squarely at mainland buyers, announces optimistically, "Situated amidst breathtaking countryside in the middle of the island, the extensive grounds of Gatcombe Manor are the setting for a truly unique collection of new homes. From renovated late Victorian buildings to brand new dwellings, all of the properties are designed to complement and enhance original features and existing surroundings alike. From chic apartments to spacious detached houses, there is certain to be a home here that you will lose your heart to."
Gatcombe Manor is a joint venture project between West Register (Realisations) Ltd & Mildren Homes Ltd. Click here to see what happened at the latest planning meeting to decide Whitecroft's future. There is now a marketing suite open daily at the old hospital site and prospective purchasers will be warmly welcomed and shown around the apartments.
